Dedicated on the eighth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, this memorial pays tribute to the 178 Suffolk County residents lost on 9/11 including 61 FDNY firefighters, 1 FDNY*EMS Paramedic, 1 Port Authority and 6 NYPD police officers.


Located in the Armed Forces Plaza of the H. Lee Dennison county office building in Hauppauge, the memorial features etched glass panes dedicated to the memory of the 178 lives lost.  Each panel is dedicated to an individual county resident listing their name, age, occupation and hometown as well as an emblem to represent their affiliation (dept. patches for FDNY, NYPD & PAPD and American Flags for civilians).
