Bayville Fire Co.# 1

Organized in 1922, Bayville protects a waterfront community on the North Shore

of Nassau County on Long Island. Thirty five active volunteers respond to an average of 600 alarms providing Fire, Rescue & BLS level EMS transport (ALS   is provided by the Nassau Co. Police Emergency Ambulance Bureau).

Engine 503 - 1993 Spartan Gladiator/R.D. Murray 1500 gpm/750 gal.

Ladder 502 - 1998 Spartan/Smeal 55’/1250 gpm/500 gal.

Engine 501 - 1988 FMC 1500 gpm/500 gal.

Tanker 5011 - 2004 Kenworth/New Lexington 1500 gpm/3,500 gal.

Due to having remote waterfront homes in their response area, Bayville operates one of only two tankers among the 71 departments in Nassau County. Neighboring Oyster Bay Atlantic Steamer Fire Co. operates the other with a 1975 Mack CF tandem axle rig.

Engine 504 - 2007 KME 4x4 1500 gpm/500 gal./30 foam 

Equipped with 4WD for beachfront access, it is equipped with a full set of T-N-T extrication tools.

Water Rescue 5014 - 1979 AM General (Ex-US Military)

Equipped for high water evacuation during coastal flooding, it is equipped with a rear hydraulic lift-gate to assist passengers on-board, bench seating in the cargo area & a generator for powering floodlights.
