Ladder 3 - 2010 Pierce Velocity 95’/2000 gpm/300 gal.

This rig marked the end of an era as it replaced a 1985 75’ Pierce Arrow/Pitman Snorkel. Saddle Brook’s Hook & Ladder Co# 1 holds the distinction of operating the first Snorkel in the state of New Jersey when they placed a 1963 FWD/Pitman Snorkel in service.

Originally organized in 1911 as the Saddle River Twp. FD, the present day Saddle Brook FD is comprised of 3 companies with 50 active members. Responding to 300 alarms annually, the department provides Fire & Rescue protection to a mixed residential/commercial/industrial area encompassing private homes, several major hotels, high rise buildings, shopping malls, manufacturing plants & three major roadways (Route 46, Interstate 80 & the Garden State Parkway).









Squad 5 - 2005 Ford F-350 4x4/Stahl

Utilized for personnel transport, it is equipped with spill control supplies & traffic control devices. Half the cost of this rig was funded by the Saddle Brook VFW Post #3484.

Rescue 1 - 1994 Pierce Lance

Featuring a crew cab & walk-in body with seating for 14, this rig is fully equipped with both single & dual Hurst pumps, a Hurst portable pump, 4 bottle cascade system with Sierra booster and command post complete with two command boards, six radios & a laptop. Its’ equipment complement includes Hurst extrication tools (two spreaders, two cutters, a combi tool & four rams), low & high pressure air bags and cribbing.

Engine 1 - 2003 Pierce Quantum 1500 gpm/750 gal./40 foam

Equipped with seating for 8, this rig is equipped with a four head light tower, 200’ 1” booster reel, (3) 150’ speedlays (two 1 3/4”, one 2 1/2”) & (3) 150’ “deadlays” (two 1 3/4”, one 2 1/2”).
