Delaware County Station 51

Organized in 1922, this volunteer department responds jointly with the Garden City Fire Co. as the Nether Providence Township FD. Serving a 5+ mile area including Interstate 476 (the Blue Route) from I-95 to US 1, the department provides Fire & Rescue protection to Nether Providence Township & Rose Valley Borough. EMS is provided  by the neighboring Media FC with ALS support from Riddle Memorial Hospital.

Squad 51-2 - 2000 Pierce Quantum 2000 gpm/750 gal.

This rig responds first due to non-structure incidents as well as second due for structure fires. Equipped with seating for six FF’s each with SCBA (including the driver), it features a 20 kw generator, a 6,000 watt light tower, two electric reels, two hydraulic reels in the rear compartment, a 3 tool Hurst high pressure rescue system, reciprocating saw, thermal imager, CO meter and 1,500’ of 5” LDH supply line.

Rescue 51-6 - 2005 Pierce Quantum

Featuring a 12” raised roof with seating for eight FF’s, the 20’ custom walk-in body is equipped with two roll-off awnings, a 55 kw PTO generator, nine reels (4 electric, 4 hydraulic & 1 air), 9,000 watt light tower, four bottle 6,000 PSI cascade with fill station, six portable quartz lights (two with tri-pods), a refrigerator, microwave, mobile data terminal and digital camera with color printer. Equipped for vehicle extrication, rope & confined space rescue, its’ equipment complement includes eight 60 minute Scott SCBA, two five minute escape packs, a 9 tool Hurst high pressure rescue system, Lukas steering wheel/pedal cutter, 73 ton air bag system, rescue struts and 50 ton bottle jack system. In addition, it also carries rotary, chain & reciprocating saws, air powered tools, rope rescue gear, a tri-pod, two Stokes baskets, SKED stretcher, thermal imager, single & four gas meters, a haz-mat library, LZ kit and BLS gear including oxygen, an AED and 8 backboards.  Rescue 51-6 responds first due to motor vehicle accidents, spills & haz-mat incidents while being assigned third due for structure fires.
