Organized in 1927, Quaker Hill Fire Co. serves the North end of the Town of Waterford. Providing Fire & Rescue protection, eight volunteer members answer an annual average of 350 alarms.
Home to Quaker Hill's full fleet, it houses an engine, Tele-Squrt, forestry unit and an ambulance from the Waterford Ambulance Service.
Engine W-21 - 2006 Ferrara Inferno 1500 gpm/1000 gal./30 gal. A&B foam
Outfitted with a Compressed Air Foam System, it is plumbed to the deck gun as well as a 250' 1-3/4" pre-connect. Seating six, it is equipped with Holmatro® extrication tools, air bags, a 250' rear 2-1/2" pre-connect, 2-1/2" carried in a dead load and 1,600' of 5" LDH supply line.
Truck W-25 - 2015 Spartan Gladiator/Ladder Tower Co. Tele-Squrt 65'/1000 gpm/750 gal.
Seating six, it features both a remote control as well as a joystick at the rear panel to operate the boom. It is equipped for rapid intervention and rope rescue. This rig is the first Tele-Squrt model that I have photographed since it was re-engineered by Ladder Tower Co. (the former Ladder Towers Inc. or LTI as commonly known) following their acquisition by Smeal Fire Apparatus in 2014.
Forestry W-23 - 2006 Ford F550 4x4/Firematic B.R.A.T. 300 gpm/300 gal./11 gal. foam
Featuring a twin at the Oswegatchie Fire Company also of Waterford, this rig features Super Single tires, two 200' booster reels, a 2-1/2" rear intake/discharge and a portable winch with front receiver point. It is outfitted with two SCBA, a bumper mounted 100' 1-3/4" pre-connect, forestry hose, 250' of 3" supply line, high rise hose pack, two chainsaws, a portable pump and a come-a-long.
