Operating as Harford County Company 6, Whiteford Vol. Fire Co. was established in 1997 after severing ties with the Delta-Cardiff Fire Co. in neighboring York County, Pennsylvania. Serving a 25 square mile rural and historic area encompassing the Whiteford, Cardiff, Pylesville and Street areas, seventy volunteers provide Fire, Technical Rescue
and ALS level EMS protection responding to over 800 alarms annually.Engine 611 - 2005 Seagrave Marauder 1500 gpm/1250 gal.
Having replaced the company's original engine, a 1985 Ford C/LTI 1000/1000 pumper, it is assigned to respond for mutual aid. Accordingly, it carries 600’ of 1-3/4” attack lines, a 250’ 2-1/2” “blitz line” and 1,200’ of 4” LDH supply line. Engine 612 operates a similar 2006 Seagrave Marauder 2000/1500 engine assigned to respond first due to structure fires.

The first rescue engine operated by Whiteford, this rig was sold in 2011 to the Bethany Pike VFD in West Virginia to be used as their second engine. It featured a 3,000 watt four head light tower and was equipped with a full complement of Hurst® extrication tools, air and hand powered tools as well as 1,700' of various size attack and supply lines.
Whiteford VFC (Maryland), Truck 631 (Retired) - 1978 Seagrave/1990 Spartan/Interstate Truck Equipment 100’
This rig has quite a storied past - starting life as FDNY Ladder 37 serving in the Borough of the Bronx during “The War Years”, it was acquired by New Cumberland, Pennsylvania in 1990 and rehabbed with a new Spartan Monarch cab, roll up compartment doors and upgraded warning lights. In 2006, it entered service as Whiteford's first aerial device and operated until being replaced in the Fall of 2011 with a 2009 demonstrator Spartan/Smeal
105’ rear mount aerial quint. The rig was then donated to the Center Township VFC in Pennsylvania where it served its’ fourth career!Rescue 651 - 2000 Emergency One Cyclone II
Assigned to respond to motor vehicle accidents, haz-mat and rescue calls, it features a 40kw direct drive generator, two 9,000 watt light towers, 6,000 PSI cascade system and a 20,000 lb. rear mounted hydraulic winch.
It is equipped with a full complement of Hurst® extrication tools, air and manual struts, RIT equipment and a plasma cutter.Utility 671 - 2000 Ford F-350 4x4/SWAB - Special Unit 688 - 2003 John Deere HPX 4x4/Fire Carmen 150 psi/60 gal.
Utility 671 is outfitted with equipment for high angle, water rescue and BLS medical response as well as a portable Hurst® power unit and spreader. It responds as part of the county technical rescue team as well as for SAR calls. Special Unit 688 responds for wildland fires and SAR calls and features a 25' booster reel, 150' of 1/2" forestry hose and an interchangeable Medi-Bed patient transport module.
Light Tower 6 - Kubota
Designed for use during prolonged operations, crime scene/accident investigations and in remote areas, this unit features four 1,000 watt metal halide lights on a 30’ telescoping boom that can rotate a full 360 degrees. Providing lighting over a 5-7 acre area, it can operate for 72 hours on a 60 gallon fuel supply.
