Operating as Company 25 in the combination Prince George’s (“PG”) County Fire Department, Clinton VFD’s specialty is "Moving Big Water” - accordingly, they have operated several unyque apparatus designed specifically for that purpose including their legendary 1976 Kenworth/Pierce open cab water supply pumper. Known for having an abundance of warning lights on their apparatus, Engine 251 continues that tradition with multiple LED's, Mars 888 lights and a Roto-Ray in their distinctive Red, White and Green color configuration. Featuring a two stage pump with dual 5” discharges, it is outfitted with four 6” hard suctions and adapters for the entire Baltimore/DC Metro area. Its’ hose load includes 1,000’ each of both 3” and 5” supply line, a 250’ 3” leader line with gated wye, 250’ and 400’ 2” attack lines as well as two 150’ 1-3/4” pre-connects and a 100’ 1-1/2” trash line.
Water Supply 25 (Retired) - 1976 Kenworth/Pierce 2000 gpm/500 gal.
Originally entering service as Engine 252 operating as a front line engine, this unyque one of a kind apparatus was then reassigned as a water supply piece in 1985. It responded to all multiple alarm fires and any non-hydranted areas in Prince George's County. Officially retired in 2007, this rig was replaced with a 1986 Pierce Lance 2000 gpm pumper featuring a unique rear manifold outfitted with one 4 inch and four 2-1/2" discharges. It was equipped with 2,000' of 5" LDH and adapters for the entire Baltimore/Washington Metro area and served until 2018 when sold to the New Creek, West Virginia VFD where it was slated to enter service in 2019 as a water supply unit serving Mineral County and surrounding areas.
