Organized in 1927, the Mizpah Fire Co. serves Hamilton Township as Station 18-2. Twenty five volunteers provide fire protection to a 40 square mile rural response area answering an annual average of 80 alarms. Despite their low call volume, the company members proudly boast that when they do get a run, there's usually fire showing! This two bay station was constructed in 1995 on the site of the original firehouse while a four bay brick station to the right
of this building constructed in 1968 is used as a social hall and for storage.Engine 1833 ("Lil Blue") - 2017 Pierce Enforcer 1500 gpm/500 gal./CAFS
The department's first Pierce brand apparatus, it features a compact wheelbase to better navigate rural roads/driveways and is equipped with a Compressed Air Foam System for added "punch". Seating six, it features impressive American Flag chevron graphics on the rear end.
Engine Tanker 1827 ("The Blue Beast" - Retired) - 1994 HME/4 Guys 1500 gpm/2500 gal.
Formerly assigned to respond second due, this rig provided "big water" to further support the CAFS of Engine 1833. It now serves as Water Tender 1716 with the Vincent Fire Co. of Vincentown in Southampton Township
(Burlington County) where it retains its' Blue color scheme and "The Blue Beast" markings.Antique - 1953 Dodge/Great Eastern (Oren)
One of Mizpah's former engines prior to their color change - when asked about the origin of their unyque color scheme, a senior member advised that it was the result of a dare with the neighboring Minotola Fire Co. to order a rig painted Black provided Mizpah would order one in Blue. Both accepted the dare and their fleets have exclusively been those colors ever since!
