Established in 1929, the fire company serves the City of Port Republic which holds the distinction of having the longest serving mayor in the
State of New Jersey. Their response area encompasses a five square mile rural residential area consisting of city hall, a church and boat launch.
Atlantic County Station 21
Built in 1967, an extension was later added to accommodate food preparation for the company's annual roast beef fundraiser dinner which serves over 1,000 meals. Accordingly, there is a commercial grade kitchen with large scale appliances which were donated by local casinos from nearby Atlantic City. A pre-fabricated building was constructed in 2019 to the rear of the firehouse to provide additional storage space particularly for the
equipment needed to host the fundraiser dinner.
Engine 21-4 - 2006 Spartan/Elite Power Products 1500 gpm/750 gal./20 gal. foam
Operating as a rescue engine, it responds first due to 14 miles (7 miles North and South) of the Garden State Parkway. Accordingly, it is equipped with a Holmatro® cutter, spreader and rams. Its' firefighting complement mirrors that of Engine 21-3 shown below as well as 1,200' of 5" LDH supply line.
Engine 21-3 - 1994 HME/Allegheny 1500 gpm/1000 gal.
Assigned as the first due structural engine, it is outfitted with six SCBA, three pre-connects (two 1-3/4", one 2-1/2") and 1,500' of 5" LDH supply line.
Engine 21-1 - 1984 Ford/Grumman Firecat 1000 gpm/1000 gal.
This rig is equipped with a spare set of portable Amkus® extrication tools which saw use for twenty five years. Despite their age, the tools have proven their worth on occasion when the newer tools encountered issues!
Tanker 21-2 - 1991 Peterbilt/S&S 1500 gpm/3000 gal.
Typically responding second due for fires, this rig is set up to handle fire attack. Accordingly, it is outfitted with four SCBA with one hour cylinders, assorted pre-connects and ground ladders.
