Organized in 1948, South Egg Harbor VFC# 5 serves the response area formerly protected by both Germania VFC# 2 of Galloway Township and the Egg Harbor City FD.

The original firehouse was erected in 1948 upon the company's formation with a two bay structure built by the members. A third bay was later added in 1983 again by the members themselves.

This rig holds the distinction of many firsts including being a non-commercial fully enclosed cab, having an on-board foam system and being equipped with 4 " large diameter hose when the company made the transition. It was retired in the Summer of 2022 with a new Rosenbauer Commander series engine.

Brush 26-57 - 1991 Dodge Power Ram 350/Dept. Built 340 gpm/225 gal.
Having replaced a well worn 1964 Dodge Power Wagon, this rig was built in-house. The cab/chassis was delivered painted White and members added Green and Gold letters/stripes establishing their new color scheme. This replaced the Safety Yellow color scheme that had been adopted with the delivery of 1973 Ford/Bruco and 1978 Hamerly engines.

Cascade 5 - 2008 Foster
Funded through a grant, this support piece was placed in service in 2008. It is outfitted with a cascade system, lighting and confined space breathing air equipment.
