Read MoreOrganized in 1907, the Wyckoff Fire Department provides Fire and Rescue protection to the Township of Wyckoff. Operating as three companies, 120 active volunteers respond annually to over 650 alarms including mutual aid to nine surrounding towns serving as one of four Firefighter Assist and Search Teams (FAST) in the region.
Tower Ladder 241 - 2005 Seagrave 95’ Aerialscope
Featuring a 10 kw generator and 5,000 lb. lift capacity on the boom, this rig carries 147’ of ground ladders. It replaced a 1981 Mack CF Aerialscope that began life as FDNY Ladder 161 before being acquired by Wyckoff in 1991 after which it was rehabbed. Traded into Seagrave with the purchase of this rig, the former Aerialscope later acted as a loaner apparatus serving the City of Bridgeton, New Jersey and the Oceanside (Long Island, New York) FD
before the body was repurposed for a major refurbishment of a 1972 Aerialscope (also ex-FDNY) serving the Belltown VFD of Stamford, Connecticut while the bucket was transformed into a bar in a Pennsylvania firefighter's home.Rescue 242 - 2010 Spartan Gladiator/Rescue 1
Measuring in at 42’ L 11” H, this impressive rig features a 30kw hydraulic generator, 125 CFM 11kw PTO compressor, 9,000 watt light tower and a 9,000 lb. portable winch with multiple receiver points. Seating eight (seven with SCBA, all seats with radio headsets and portable radios), it is outfitted with four Hurst® pumps powering six reels (two on each side and the front bumper), two air and electric reels as well as a speedy dry hopper. system, a Boschammer® pavement breaker, portable corded floodlights, 20 spare SCBA cylinders, a Stokes basket with two backboards and BLS medical gear including an AED.Rescue 243 (Retired) - 1989 Mack MC/Saulsbury
Now serving its' third career, this rig formerly served as the department’s front line heavy rescue until 2010 when it was re-assigned as Rescue 243 operating as a fully equipped back-up rescue. It featured a 20kw generator, 150’ front mount winch cable (rated for a straight pull at 20,000 pounds) and a 3,000 lb. capacity A-frame winch. It was equipped with Hurst® extrication tools and set up to act as a mobile command post. This rig was then acquired by the Elmont
(Long Island, New York) FD in 2013 where it entered service in 2014 as a special operations response vehicle for their newly formed technical rescue team. In 2021, the Elmont FD replaced it with a custom Ferrara two door tandem axle walk-in style
heavy rescue that closely mirrored the FDNY specification - it was then acquired by the Stark Vol. FD in New Hampshire where it is presently in frontline service with impressive artwork representing the department and community it now serves.Wyckoff FD Fallen Firefighters Memorial
Dedicated on September 8th of 2002, this memorial has considerable significance to Wyckoff’s members as it pays tribute to one of their own - Firefighter Dana Rey Hannon was lost on 9/11 while operating as an FDNY firefighter detailed to Engine 26 (he was assigned to Ladder 34). Upon dedicating this memorial, the department established the Dana Hannon Distinguished Service Award which would be given to any member who went
