This rig is the first in many years to not feature the pump panel enclosed in the crew cab. The unyque color scheme was adopted in 1975 under the leadership of Chief Sandy Weinberg when a Ford/Young pumper was ordered around the same time that the State of New Jersey was considering adopting legislation mandating high visibility colors for fire apparatus. While the color mandate never materialized, Company 1 embraced the Lime Yellow color scheme and has maintained it on all their apparatus since then (Company 2 operates with traditional Red/White apparatus).
