Organized in 1907, Bloomsbury Hose Co. No. 1 serves the Borough of Bethlehem and Alexandria Township from the county line to the mountain including Interstate 78. Twenty active volunteers provide Fire & Rescue protection answering an annual average of 160 alarms.
Engine 43-2 - 2011 Pierce Impel 1500 gpm/750 gal.
Seating six (five with SCBA), it features pump-and-roll capability. It is outfitted with two bumper mounted 100' 1-3/4" lines pre-connected to a gated wye, two 150' 1-3/4" crosslays and 1,000' of 5" LDH supply line. It also carries first generation Genesis® battery powered extrication tools (as the first fire company in Hunterdon County to have battery powered tools) and Milwaukee® battery powered hand tools.
Engine 43-1 - 2001 Spartan/S&S 1500 gpm/1000 gal.
Seating eight (five with SCBA), this rig is assigned as the first out apparatus for structure fires and is equipped with a pre-connected piercing nozzle on the front bumper.
Tender 43 - 1981 Mack/S&S 500 gpm/1900 gal.
Outfitted with a manual rear/pneumatic side dump valves, it is equipped with a "dead-lay" supply line above the pump panel as well as a 2,000 gallon portable dump tank. With 42 years of active service logged, future plans are to replace with rig with a pumper-tanker.
Brush 43 - 1987 Ford F350 4x4/Emergency One 500 gpm/350 gal.
Designed to "go anywhere", this solid little rig features a manual transmission, four wheel drive and mud terrain tires as well as pump-and-roll capability and a winch. It is outfitted with a 220' booster reel, long handled tools,
two 100' 1-3/4" crosslays and a 400' forestry pack.
