While their original rig was a 1952 American LaFrance bought from $1 from the Atlantic Highlands Fire Co. in neighboring Monmouth County, this was the first new rig purchased by Silverton. In an interesting coincidence, a member of the Trautwein family that owned TASC Fire Apparatus is still is a member of Silverton Fire Company.
