Hillsdale
Read MoreOrganized in 1929, the Hillsdale Fire Co. provides Fire and Rescue protection to the Town of Hillsdale as well as parts of Copake and Austerlitz. As the easternmost department in Columbia County, the company's 40 volunteers answer an average of 150 alarms including mutual aid response into the neighboring state of Massachusetts.
Engine 33-20 (Retired) - 1997 KME Excel 1500 gpm/1500 gal.
Seating six (five with SCBA), it is equipped with three 150' crosslays (two 1-3/4" with foam capability, one 2-1/2"), a portable pump, chain saw and 3 gas meter. In addition, it also carries a Holmatro® combi-tool, landing zone lights, an AED and portable generator with tri-pod floodlights. This rig was replaced with in late 2022 with a new Rosenbauer Commander series 1500/1900 engine.
Engine 33-30 - 2005 International/KME 1500 gpm/1500 gal.
Responding first due to brush fires, this rig features an electric operated rear dump valve to rapidly offload its' water supply. It is outfitted with two SCBA, three 150' crosslays (two 1-3/4" with foam capability, one 2-1/2"), forestry hose, "Indian Cans", a chainsaw, an on-board generator with portable tri-pod floodlights and a portable pump.
Engine 33-12 (Retired) - 1979 Seagrave PB/2003 Wildefire 1500 gpm/300 gal.
Originally starting life as a canopy cab pumper, this rig was refurbished in 2003 with a four door cab enclosure and the addition of a hydraulic hose reel carrying 2,000' of 5" LDH supply line. Outfitted with an on-board generator, it is equipped with a portable pump and two 150' crosslays (1-3/4" and 2-1/2"). This rig is reported to have pumped for twelve hours straight at a barn fire feeding a 3,000 foot 5" LDH supply line!
Tanker 33-31 (Retired) - 1986 GMC General/1987 Quality 1500 gpm/3000 gal.
Replaced with a 2016 Kenworth/Rosenbauer 3,000 gallon tanker, this rig now serves Hancock, Vermont having been sold within one day of being listed. Featuring rear and side dump valves controlled by in-cab or exterior controls, it was equipped with a 3,000 gallon folding tank on an electric fold-down rack.
Rescue 33-44 - 2009 KME Predator
Seating eight (seven with SCBA), this rig features an on-board generator, six head light tower, four bottle cascade system and a command center. It is equipped with a full complement of Holmatro® extrication tools (cutter/spreader/rams/pedal cutter), Res-Q-Jacks®, three air bags, and a 10,000 lb. portable winch with four receiver points. It also carries chain/rotary ventilation saws and a thermal imager (with connection to the command post for viewing).
Support 33-74 - 1995 International 4700/PL Custom
Having replaced a 1979 GMC walk-in style box truck, this rig originally served a fire department on Long Island, New York and later the Prattsville, New York FD. It is utilized for personnel transport, traffic control and scene support. Accordingly, it is equipped with a portable generator, floodlights, a portable pump, traffic cones and pop-up traffic control signs. It features an impressive 9/11 remembrance artwork painted on the rear doors.
