Ashland FD

Organized in 1926, the Ashland FD serves the 25 square miles of the Town of Ashland. Operating from one firehouse, 20-25 active volunteers respond to an annual average of 30-40 alarms providing Fire, Rescue and BLS level EMS protection.

Built on the site of the original firehouse which was destroyed by fire on January 10th of 2010, the current firehouse was dedicated on September 19th, 2015. With the addition of the town hall, the building quadrupled in size and houses Ashland's full fleet of fire and EMS vehicles.

Engine 1-2 - 2011 International 4900/Darley 1500 gpm/1250 gal./30 gal. foam
This rig along with Brush 1-3 survived the devastating fire that destroyed Ashland’s firehouse in 2010. It is dedicated to the memory of Firefighters Paul Alle and Gary Partridge who were lost in a LODD incident. Outfitted with a Compressed Air Foam System, it carries two "squirrel tail" lengths of 6" suction hose and is equipped with a multi-port manifold pre-connected on the rear step.

As with Engine 1-2, this rig is also equipped with a Compressed Air Foam System and carries two SCBA as well as one set of turn-out gear onboard.

In addition to its' large capacity tank, it is also outfitted with 2,000’ of 4” LDH supply line.

Brush 1-3 - 1967 Ford F250 150 gpm/250 gal.
Having survived, been repaired and returned to active service following the fire that destroyed Ashland's firehouse, Brush 1-3 is adorned with “I Survived the Fire of 1/10/2010" on both sides of the bed.

Ladder 1-7 - 1986 Pirsch 110’
This rig has had quite a service life over the past 35 years - original to the Catskill FD, it later served Coxsackie Hose Co# 3 (both also in Greene County) before being acquired by a private owner who later donated it to Ashland. It operates as a support piece outfitted with assorted ground ladders and a pulley system for use during flag arch details.

Rescue 1-5 - 1995 International 4900/Rescue 1
Having formerly serving a department in downstate New York, it retains its’ original color scheme and features a 20kw PTO generator, light tower and cascade system. It is outfitted with two sets of Amkus® extrication tools as well as all the department’s SCBA and turn-out gear (with the exception of those carried on Engines 1-2 and 1-6).

Almost completely restored with the pump packing due to be replaced, it still pumps!
