Read MoreOrganized in 1946, the Kiskatom Vol. Fire Department serves the Town of Catskill providing Fire and Rescue protection responding to an annual average of 70-80 alarms. Thirty active volunteers operate from a single station built in 1954 on a parcel of land donated just prior to formation of the fire district, completed by 1956 with additions constructed in 1979 and 1989 this is the site of the present day firehouse.

Featuring impressive Thin Red Line flag graphics on the hood, this rig is outfitted with 1,500’ of 1” forestry hose to accommodate long distance stretches. Kiskatom VFD utilized the first ever All-County-Alert in Greene County back in 1981 for a 75-100 acre brush fire requiring a total of 22 companies for equipment/manpower.
