Kiskatom VFD

Organized in 1946, the Kiskatom Vol. Fire Department serves the Town of Catskill providing Fire and Rescue protection responding to an annual average of 70-80 alarms. Thirty active volunteers operate from a single station built in 1954 on a parcel of land donated just prior to formation of the fire district, completed by 1956 with additions constructed in 1979 and 1989 this is the site of the present day firehouse.

Responding second due as a water supply unit, it is outfitted with 1,500 of 3" supply line and a 2,000 gallon folding tank. In addition, it is equipped with two 350' attack lines and four SCBA.

Having replaced a 1976 White 1,350 gal. tanker that was sold to the Hunter Fire District for $1.00, this compact rig easily fits down narrow driveways/roadways that larger tandem axle tankers cannot!

Brush M16-5 - 2017 Ford F550XL/First Attack Engineering HP pump/300 gal.
Featuring impressive Thin Red Line flag graphics on the hood, this rig is outfitted with 1,500’ of 1” forestry hose to accommodate long distance stretches. Kiskatom VFD utilized the first ever All-County-Alert in Greene County back in 1981 for a 75-100 acre brush fire requiring a total of 22 companies for equipment/manpower.

Rescue M16-1 - 2005 International 4400/Central States
This rig features a 10 kw generator, cascade system and command center in the walk-in rescue box. Its' equipment complement includes eight SCBA and Amkus extrication tools.
