Operating as a rescue engine, this rig is the designated mutual aid RIT engine. Featuring the standard MPFD hoseload (plus a 400' 2-1/2" deadlay), it is equipped with Genesis® battery powered extrication tools (spreader/cutter), air powered tools, a "man-in-machine" tool kit, mini air bag kit and a small complement of low angle rope rescue gear. Engine 7 is known as "Andy's Engine" dedicated to the memory of Andrew Cherub, the first fire chief who stored the department's original rig in his barn.
Engine 5A9-3 - 1989 Sutphen Deluge 1500 gpm/1000 gal./50 gal. AFFF
Due to be retired, this rig features side facing "suicide seats" in the jumpseat area (complete with SCBA) as well as a chrome deck pipe. It features the same standard hose load found on all MPFD engines minus the 250' 2-1/2" deadlay.
Ladder 5A9-4 - 2013 Seagrave 75' Aerialscope
Built using FDNY specs, Ladder 4 is dedicated to the memory of FDNY Rescue 2 Lt. Pete Martin (a former MPFD member) who was lost on 9/11. It is outfitted with Hurst® e-Draulic battery powered extrication tools (spreader, cutter and ram), rescue struts, air bags, a full complement of high angle rope rescue gear and RIT equipment.
