Serving the residential beachfront community of Breezy Point on the Rockaway Peninsula, the Point Breeze Vol. Fire Department which was organized in 1910 present day operates as one of the nine remaining volunteer fire departments still operating within the confines of New York City.
Engine 7 ("Big Jack") - 2010 International 7400 4x4/2013 KME 750 gpm/200 gal.
Having replaced a four door 1994 International 4x4/KME, this rig features a crew cab that mirrors the design of neighboring Roxbury VFD's engine. It features front and rear facing full crew benches seating six firefighters.
It was rebuilt by KME following heavy damage incurred during Hurricane Sandy in 2012.
Engine 8 ("Sand Flea V") - 2017 International 7400 4x4/KME 1000 gpm/200 gal.
Point Breeze's newest rig, it replaced a two door 1984 International 4x4/ Saulsbury engine that carried 1,000' of 5" LDH supply line. It features a unyque crew cab configuration with forward and rear facing SCBA equipped jumpseats on both sides of a center mounted "dog house" containing the booster tank.
