Read MoreOrganized in 1910, the Roxbury FD protects a beachfront residential community on the Rockaway Peninsula that was formerly part of Long Island prior to being annexed by the City of New York. Present day, they operate as one of the nine remaining active volunteer FD’s operating within the confines of New York City. Forty volunteer members answering 160 alarms annually provide Fire, Extrication and Basic Life Support level EMS protection with Advanced Life Support provided by FDNY*EMS Station 47 paramedics. Home to Roxbury's fleet of an four wheel drive engine, beach rescue/brush fire response unit and an ambulance, it also features a small 9/11 monument (shown to the right) paying tribute to members of the Rockaway/Breezy Point community who were lost on 9/11 including several as career FDNY firefighters.

This rig is outfitted with a short wheelbase, four wheel drive and front mount pump for maneuvering along tight beachfront access roads. It features a unyque crew cab configuration providing two bench seats with SCBA positions for six firefighters and is equipped with a Hurst® extrication tool.
