Read MoreOrganized in 1904, Hadley Fire Rescue provides Fire, Rescue and EMS First Response protection serving 25 square miles of the Town of Hadley. Operating from two stations, a call force of 25 members supplemented by two part time career firefighters from 6 AM to 6 PM (due to be expanded to 24 hour coverage) answer an average of 1,500 alarms annually.

Seating five (four with SCBA), this rig responds first due with the two on-duty career firefighters from 0600-1800. It is outfitted with Hurst® e-Draulic battery operated extrication tools, Vetter® air bags, rope and water rescue gear. Its' hose load include three 200' pre-connects (1-3/4" and 2-1/2") while the rear bed holds 300' of 1-3/4" and 200' of 2-1/2" attack line as well as 300' of 3" and 1,000' of 4" LDH supply line.

In addition to this rig, Hadley Fire Rescue is prepping another brush truck they acquired from a department in New Hampshire that has been painted Yellow to match their fleet. I plan to return to Hadley on a future teaching trip to photograph that rig as it will be only the second Alum-Line brand rig I have ever photographed in my travels across the Northeast (the other one operates with the
Guilderland Center FD in Albany County, New York).
