Upon the dept's organization in 1959, a simple three bay firehouse was erected. In 1990, the Cabarrus School System offered their decommissioned water tower with the stipulation that the department demolish and remove it from the property, accordingly over several nights/weekends it was disassembled by the members and moved to the firehouse. In 1992, the base was completed with the water tower erected as a training tower make Allen VFD the only department in Cabarrus County with a true 40' rappel and training tower. The training tower has been decorated for Christmas as an annual tradition for more than 25 years. The firehouse was upgraded in 2021 with new paint and Red bay doors during which time it adopted the nickname "Grand Central Station" based on its' significant run volume for a smaller volunteer department.
