Organized in 1951, Lake Mishnock Volunteer Fire-Rescue Co. operates as one of three departments serving West Greenwich. Operating with combination staffing, they provide Fire, Rescue and EMS protection.

Lake Mishnock operates their fleet of two engines, engine tanker, ambulance and marine unit out of this five bay firehouse.

Engine 2 - 1994 Pierce Dash 1250 gpm/500 gal.
Formerly serving the Dix Hills FD on Long Island, New York as a rescue engine, this rig features a short four door crew cab, light tower and 10 gallon tanks of both Class A & B foam.
Engine Tanker 3 - 1989 Freightliner/4 Guys 1250 gpm/3000 gal.
This rig was dedicated in 1997 to honor Chief David O. Jones (who organized the department in 1951) for his 46 years of service to the Lake Mishnock Vol. Fire-Rescue Co. including 23 years serving as fire chief from 1951 to 1997.
Engine 1 (Retired) - 1989 Hahn 1500 gpm/500 gal.
Retired in 2019 just prior to my visit, this rig originally served Terrace Hose Company# 3 of the Oceanside FD also on Long Island, New York. It was replaced with yet another rig from Long Island with the arrival of the 1996 Dash shown below.

Shown here in its' original home serving the North Patchogue FD on Long Island, New York this rig entered service in 2019 replacing the Hahn shown above. One of twins operated by North Patchogue, it features the distinctive Conestoga wagon cover that NPFD utilized on several of their engines. Located in the suburbs of Long Island east of New York City, North Patchogue at one time operated an almost exclusively Mack fleet (complete with the Conestoga wagon covers used by FDNY) prompting a neighboring chief
(a well known and respected FDNY Lt.) to give them the nickname "The Borough" - thoroughly embracing the nickname, NPFD kept the trademark hosebed cover and rear step canopy on their engines for many years to come continuing with these twin rigs (one of which is still
