Read MoreOriginally organized as a volunteer department in 1934, the Little Compton FD has evolved through a gradual progression to the present day fully career organization. Serving a 25 square mile response area, nine full time members provide Fire, Rescue and ALS EMS level protection answering an average of 850-1,000 alarms annually.
Engine 2 - 2008 Freightliner/Pierce Contender 1250 gpm/1000 gal.
Outfitted with a Compressed Air Foam System, this rig provides added "punch" utilizing the combined 4,000 gallon water supply of this rig and Tanker 1. It is equipped with 600' of pre-connected attack lines as well as 1,000 of 4" supply line.
Tanker 1 - 2015 Freightliner/Ferrara 1500 gpm/3000 gal./30A foam
Outfitted with a 3,000 gallon folding tank, it carries 800' of pre-connected attack lines as well as 1,000 of 4" supply line. In addition, this rig along with Engine 2 carries a "Rural Hitch" which assists arriving units with connecting into an established water supply.
Squad 1 - 2008 Ford F650/Emergency One
Having entered service in 2015, this rig formerly served the Cullman FD in Alabama. Featuring a Compressed Air Foam System, 10kw generator and light tower, it is outfitted with an Amkus® Duo pump supplying power to a spreader, cutter or two rams. It also carries a portable Amkus® power unit, air bags, Res-Q-Jacks®, rope and water rescue gear, two SCBA, rotary saws, backboard/Stokes basket and a dewatering pump. When responding to auto accidents
with the two person on duty crew, one firefighter each will man the ambulance and Squad 1 with this rig left parked on the side of the road if a patient requires transport to the hospital.
