Read MoreOrganized in 1874, Adamstown Fire Co. serves the Borough of Adamstown as well as sections of Brecknock and East Cocalico Townships. Thirty volunteers answer an annual average of 100 alarms protecting a primarily residential area as well as a stretch of commercial occupancies (mostly antique dealers) on Route 272.
Engine 11-1 - 2007 Pierce Enforcer 1750 gpm/1000 gal.
Seating six, it features a 15kw hydraulic generator and 95 gpm foam eductor with 30 gallons of foam concentrate carried onboard. It is outfitted with a total of seven pre-connects including three 200' attack lines (two 2", one 2-1/2" with smooth bore nozzle), two 3" attack lines (one with a gated wye, the other with a master stream device) and 100'/150' 1-3/4" bumper mounted attack lines. A total of 1,500' of supply line (300' of 3" and 1,200' of 5" LDH) round out its' hose load. The firefighting equipment complement includes six SCBA, a RIT pack, Pro-Pak foam pack, 59' of ground ladders (including a 35' extension ladder), two thermal imagers, a multi-gas meter, Stihl® rotary/chain saws and a five port manifold. For rescue responses, it is equipped with 18 volt DeWalt® cordless hand tools, Junkyard Dog® struts, cribbing, haz-mat absorbent supplies, water rescue gear and BLS medical equipment including an AED.
Truck 11 - 2013 Pierce Saber 75'/1500 gpm/500 gal.
Having replaced a 1989 Pierce Dash 1500/1000 canopy cab pumper (sold to Sister Lakes Fire Protection District in Oregon), this former demonstrator was acquired to receive increased ISO credit. Seating six, it features a 6 kw hydraulic generator and
a 1,500 gpm remote control pinable waterway. It is equipped with six SCBA, four pre-connects (three 200' 1-3/4", one 2.5" with smooth bore nozzle), 1,000' of 5" LDH supply line, 103' of ground ladders, two thermal imagers, a multi-gas meter, RIT pack,
rotary/chain saws and water/rope rescue gear. Acquired in May 2016, company members mounted all the hand tools/lights in-house while training extensively in truck company operations prior to the rig entering service in October.Brush 11-1 - 2000 Ford F-350/PolyBody 350 gpm/200 gal.
Constructed of a thermoplastic copolymer body for added service life, it features a 9,000 lb. quick mount winch and dual 200' 1" booster reels. It is equipped with 750' of forestry hose, wildland hand tools, a Stihl® leaf blower, chainsaws and Indian® backpack style pumps.
