Organized in 1952, the Rawlinsville Fire Co. provides Fire and Rescue protection to a 70+ mile response area encompassing Martic, Providence, Drumore and East Drumore Townships. Forty active volunteers including members of the Amish farming community they serve answer an average of 300 alarms annually.
Engine 58-1 - 1998 Seagrave 2000 gpm/1000 gal.
The only active front line unit that was purchased new, this rig seats eight (five with SCBA). It is equipped with a 150 1-3/4" bumper line, three 200' pre-connects (two 1-3/4", one 2-1/2") and 1,300 of 5" LDH supply line. In addition, it also carries a Lukas® power unit supplying Hurst® CentaurTM extrication tools acquired through government surplus. This rig received a two phase refurbishment which included new LED warning/scene lights, body and pump repairs among other upgrades.
Engine 58-2 - 1992 Pierce Dash 1500 gpm/500 gal./50 gal. foam
Originally serving the Wilkins Township FD outside Pittsburgh in Western Pennsylvania, this rig entered service in 2007 and replaced a 1975 Mack CF/SWAB engine that formerly served the Eden Fire Co. of Lancaster. Featuring a short four door cab enclosure, it was already painted in the company’s color scheme of Lime/Yellow with a Dark Green stripe. Seating six (five with SCBA), it is equipped with four pre-connects (1-3/4" and 2-1/2") and 1,100 of 5” LDH supply line.
Like Engine 58-1, it also carries Hurst® Centaur hydraulic extrication tools acquired through government surplus.Tanker 58-1 - 2000 Spartan/Fire-Fab 1750 gpm/3000 gal.
Also entering service in 2007 (and already painted in Rawlinsville’s color scheme), this rig originally served the Cronomer Valley FD in New York. Seating six (all with SCBA), it features a back-up collision avoidance system, an around-the-pump FoamPro system, 10” side/rear electric dump chutes, side/rear LDH intakes/discharges as well as hydraulic ladder/folding tank racks. Unofficially voted as the “Baddest Tanker East of the Susquehanna" at many area parades, Tanker 58 was
refurbished using a glider kit on a new 2019 Pierce Arrow XT chassis.Brush 58 (Retired) - 1990 Ford F-350/Reading/KME 180 gpm/225 gal.
Acquired through government surplus, this rig began life as a military P-20 twin agent crash truck equipped with a chemical skid unit. Already painted Lime/Yellow, Rawlinsville simply added a pump panel, mobile radio and wheel covers to convert this rig to meet their needs. It was subsequently replaced with a 1995 Ford F-350 of similar design (painted Red) that was acquired in a merger with the Pequea Fire Company.
Squad 58-2 - 2002 Ford Expedition
Another unit acquired through government surplus, it is now assigned first out for medical assist/cardiac arrest calls. It also responds to water rescues following Squad 58-1, a 2013 Ford F-350 with utility body that was acquired through the merger with the Pequea Fire Company.
