Organized in 1912, Union Hose Co. provides Fire, Rescue and EMS protection to Annville Township. Thirty active volunteers answer an annual average of 800 alarms (500 Fire, 300 EMS). In 2013, they merged with the Cleona Vol. Fire Co.
to form the Annville-Cleona Fire District.Engine 5 (Retired) - 1999 Seagrave 2000 gpm/750 gal./30A foam
The unique color of this apparatus came about during talks of forming a combined “safety department” which would have used a uniform color for both fire and police. Despite choosing a uniform color (shown on this apparatus),
the proposed agency never came to fruition, however, the department in the spirit of being a little different decided to keep the color scheme on this engine. Following considerable mechanical issues, this rig was replaced in early 2022
with a 2008 Spartan Gladiator/Crimson 1500/750 engine that formerly served Montgomery County Fire Rescue in Maryland. Painted solid red, this returned the fleet color to being all Red for the first time since 1971!Truck 5 (Retired) - 1983/1991 Mack/Baker 75’ Aerialscope
Show here serving its’ third career, this rig originally served the FDNY as Ladder 12 in the Borough of Manhattan and later the Deer Park FD on Long Island, New York. Still bearing the original artwork and logo from Deer Park’s Ladder Co. 4 (“No Fire Too Great, No Rescue Too Tough”), this rig was replaced in 2013 with a new Sutphen SP70 70'/1500/500 mid-mount aerial tower. The Aerialscope is now owned by a private collector who plans to show it on the antique apparatus muster circuit.

Rescue 5 (Retired) - 1999 Seagrave/Saulsbury
Originally serving the busy Berwyn Heights VFD in Prince George's County, Maryland this rig was involved in a roll-over collision in 2002 and was purchased by a gentleman in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania who took this on as a restoration project (he had never restored a fire truck before, let alone a damaged one). After successfully repairing it, the rig then entered service with Union Hose Co. in 2004 and served until 2020 when replaced with a new
Sutphen/Rescue 1 walk-around heavy rescue. Featuring a walk-in box, it was outfitted with a light tower and 6,000 PSI cascade system. Its' equipment complement included an Amkus® Ultimate Rescue System including three cutters,
two spreaders and three rams. It is slated to enter service with the Dale City VFD of Prince William County, Virginia as a tactical support unit after being refurbished including a new paint scheme of White with Forest Green accents.AnnvilleUnion Hose CoSeagraveSaulsburyHeavy RescueBerwyn HeightsRetired
