In 1978, the former Campmeeting and Borough Fire Companies merged to create the present day Mount Gretna Community Fire Department. The Campmeeting Fire Co. housed their apparatus in several locations prior to moving to this location in the 1950's when a one bay firehouse with a social hall was built - prior to that, they stashed fire hose and extinguishers in sinkholes scattered around the community (a practice that ultimately was abandoned due to issues with damage from weather and wildlife). Present day, Mount Gretna operates out
of this six bay firehouse with their full fleet. Seventeen volunteer members provide Fire, Rescue and EMS First Response protection to Mount Gretna Borough and West Cornwall Township as well as portions of Anville and Londonderry Townships averaging 250 alarms annually.Engine 38 - 1993 Spartan/Darley 2000 gpm/750 gal.
