York County Station 54
The present day station, this is the company's third firehouse in their 100+ year existence. Organized in 1906, the original firehouse was a wooden building that also housed the town jail. In 1944, a former cigar factory was converted to a firehouse which later received a second story addition - this location also housed the borough offices for some time. In 1981, the current firehouse was constructed - present day Station 54 is actually two separate buildings with the main section shown here housing an engine, rescue engine, water supply piece, tanker, tower ladder and two frontline ambulances while the ancillary building houses a traffic control unit, brush truck, antique and support vehicles.
